Incoming/Outgoing 7/30

I didn't get as much done this weekend as I had hoped. I haven't been sleeping well lately, so I've been sluggish during the day.

Anyway, here's some mail.

Outgoing to Laney.

I recently won a give-away over at Make My Day! This is the second give-away I've gotten this summer from her, she offers such wonderful things! Anyway, my prize came today :)

Loved her mailing label!

She was offering 3 keychains and 3 magnets and split it between 3 winners, and then surprised us with what we got. I am thrilled, I ended up with the double decker bus magnet and the postbox keychain! I love them!

Well, that's all for today, I'm going to try and write the last two letters I need to catch up on and do some stuff around the house.

Mail Problems. . .

So, our neighborhood is considered an "extra route" by the postal service, doesn't make any sense to me since this neighborhood has been here for around 40 years.  But anyway, what this means is that about every month or so we get a different mail carrier, or sometimes we will have a different one several times a week.  The other issue with this neighborhood is that all the street names are different, but all the house numbers are the same, so there are about 6 streets with a "10047" house on each one.

What all of this means (if I haven't completely confused you yet) is that lately, we have been getting a lot of mail for other streets or our neighbor's. Now, I'm always good about making sure to take someone's mail to them myself, but I know other people don't always have the time. So, long story short, I have had a couple of letters recently not make it my way.

So, my dear penpals, if it wouldn't be too much trouble, when you send me a letter could you either leave a comment here on my blog, or send me a quick email (bethfinsterwald@gmail.com) and let me know that one is on the way so I can keep an eye out for it please? It would be greatly appreciated! And I'm going to try to be better about posting received letters as soon as I get them. Thank you so much!  Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Slow Week

I don't have anything fun to share. . . well, except for spending most of a $100 gift card shopping for clothes this week, that's about the most exciting thing I did all week.

The rest of the week has been spent searching websites for jobs. . . fun stuff.

This weekend my parents are going to be gone, so basically I'll have the weekend to myself with the hubby sleeping all day, so I plan to catch up on things around here. I have three letters to reply to from Laney, Abbye, and Melissa, sorry it's taken so long, things got pushed aside this week. And then after those I'll be all caught up for a little bit :)

I've mostly taken a computer break today because my eyes have been screaming at me all week to stop staring at the screen, lol. So I've been doing laundry. . . see what fun I've been having? LOL.

Well, hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Putting Aside What I Need To Do

After three days of searching for a job and emailing my resume off and filling out online applications, I'm putting it aside for a day or two to catch up on mail!

I have three letters that need to be written. So I'm putting aside what needs to be done for what I want to do!  That and give time to maybe hear something from one of the places, and give my eyes a rest from the computer screen.

So, just a quick check in to say hi, sorry nothing fun to share today, my days have been boring since the kids went home on Sunday, oh, but my big brother did bring me a Venice Beach shotglass from their vacation, my collection continues to grow, lol.

Hope everyone is having a lovely week!

P.S. I forgot a little bit of a funny story, this really goes to show where my brain has been lately. I completely forgot I had a profile on Interpals! What reminded me? I got a message from a girl the other day congratulating me on getting married, so sweet! Anyway, thought it was funny that I forgot about my account :)

Happy Saturday!

I've had a busy day with my 3 year old niece! But now that everyone is around, I was able to sneak away for a few minutes.  She's usually all about sticking by Grammy or Poppie, but this weekend seems to be all about Bet-Bet (their name for me), which is a pleasant change, but at the same time she can be a little much. Very strong-willed little girl she is!

Anyway, onto the reason for my post, first some incoming mail today (very rare on a Saturday).

Incoming from Melissa. I loved her beautiful floral stationery!

And a couple pictures from today.

Jillian being silly while eating some pizza on the patio :)

Wyatt and I made this today, it's "Dalmation Chocolate" and it was in the cookbook I got in my package pals swap, two ingredients and so simple to make, and it's so yummy!

Well, time for me to go wake up the hubby and get some dinner going for the two of us. Hope everyone is had a wonderful Saturday!

Package Pals Reveal!

Last month my lovely pal Shannah set up a secret package exchange. Everyone got someone's name, and then we had to "stalk" their blog to see what some of their favorites were and send a package to them!

This was so much fun to participate in! I really had a great time finding things for my swap partner, and even found a new store I never knew was in San Diego and that I will be visiting again as they had a ton of cute stuff!

On to my reveal!  Here is what I sent to Freya over at Hello Bunnies!

Some of her favorite snacks, a pencil box with some pens and pencils.

Stationary and stickers, and some more yummy treats! :)

All ready to go! I had some much fun wrapping everything :)

And this is what I received from Sarah in Australia (my first mail from Australia too!).

Beautiful mailing label, and I love how she packaged the tea!

Cute wrapped package, inside was a handmade folio with lots of goodies!

I can't wait to try the recipes in "Sweet Dreams"!

Australia stamps, so cool!

Beautiful hand-made envies, letter seals and dragonflies, and some awesome notecards!

Thank you so much again Sarah, I love everything! :)

And thank you Shannah for putting this together, it was a lot of fun!

There's my reveal! Got it done just in time before a busy weekend! Have my oldest nephew Wyatt and my niece Jillian staying with us this weekend, so I'm off to have fun and enjoy having them here!  Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Uuummm. . .I forgot about posting some stuff!

So, I'm finally feeling better! My schedule has been messed up because of things going on. . . Last Thursday and this Thursday the hubby has been doing special runs for the Tribal Member girls that are on softball teams. Last week he took them to a tournament and now today he took them to another tournament! It's been weird having him home three nights a week and also having him awake all day on Friday (which was usually my catch up on letters day).

Anyway, this is a little bit of a catch-up post :)

Incoming from Abbye.
I loved her Disney stationary she used, and I love her handwriting!
Outgoing to Melissa.
Rusty hiding in my shower on the 4th of July. I don't know why, but he started this a couple years ago, for some reason he feels safe in there.

Cuddling with me, I love this boy.

The hubby and Rusty.
First tomato on Dad's plant this year! It was so tiny!

Getting bigger, and now there are two more! I'm so excited over these growing even  though I don't like tomatoes. . . I'm weird!
My BFF Susan! We were trying on hats at the swapmeet a couple weeks ago when she came down to visit.

Okay, I think that's everything I wanted to share today. I had pictures of some planes landing at the airport, when I got them onto the computer they looked horrible. . . new digital camera is definitely on my list (after the list of things we need to get done with the car :-\ )

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Egg in a Hole!

I know, my title sounds funny :)  I had a couple of entries planned for this weekend, and I didn't get a chance to get to them yesterday because we had to go pick up my brother and his family at the airport at the last minute, and then my oldest nephew Wyatt decided he wanted to spend the night, so I spent the rest of the day after we got home hanging out with him. . . especially since he says I'm his favorite Auntie, lol.

Anyway, back to my title. Today I wasn't feeling well, so I was cuddled up on the couch most of the day reading and in my book they mentioned that they had "Egg in a Hole" for breakfast.  So, when it came to dinner time, I was still feeling a little blech, and spaghetti that Mom made just didn't sound good to me. So, I looked up how to make Egg in a Hole. I remember my Grandmother used to make it for me when I was really little, but I wasn't quite sure how she made it.

So, I googled it, and found the simple directions on The Pioneer Woman's site! So, I thought I would share the link with you in case you wanted to make Egg in a Hole! It was simple and so yummy and the perfect comfort food when you aren't feeling 100%, even Wyatt loved it!  It brought back a lot of memories for me too :)

Okay, hopefully I'm feeling better tomorrow and I will get the couple entries I had planned posted, along with some (not so great) pictures of airplanes landing from yesterday!  Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

My Penpal Shannah's Etsy & Giveaway!

So this entry is to give a shoutout to my penpal Shannah's Etsy store! She's very excited that she's had two sales, yay!

I love her homemade things in her shop, she's so creative! So if you have a few minutes go check out Shannah's Craft Corner

For a sneak peak here is one of my favorite items in her store. . .

Fabric Envelope Pouch

I have a few crocheted pouches like this, but I can't put small things in them, I'm worried about them falling through the holes, so this is really cool to me! I see endless possibilities of use :)

Also, right now Shannah is have an amazing giveaway on her blog, Write Before Your Eyes, to help celebrate 100+ followers, 10,000+ blog views, and she posted about it with her 100th post! Way to go! Anyway, take a minute and go check out her 100th post and the giveaway here!

So take some time and check out her shop and blog!

Quick entry and a postcard!

Mail has been slow, and that's probably because I have 4 penpals right now, two of which I am going to work on replies to today, I've been slacking, I'm sorry.

Anyway, today I received a lovely postcard from my pal Shannah from her recent vacation.

Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina.

I love historic places, and this place looks beautiful! Thank you Shannah! :)  Oh, and please excuse the shadows of my fingers from when I was taking the picture, I just noticed that, lol.

Anyway, that's about all for now. I'm off to get those two letters written so I can get them out in the mail by Monday. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

New Layout. . .

Okay, I think I finally found a layout that I am able to live with. . . it's so hard to find ones that I like!!

Anyway, just wanted a change, that other one was starting to bug me, maybe this one will make it longer. . . lol

<3

**Edit** I changed it again because the last layout didn't have the "Reply" link to be able to reply to your comments, is that something standard?? I wish I understood enough about it to be able to make my own layout! lol :)

It's Been a Wonderful Weekend!

So, I meant to take pictures of the weekend, and I forgot!  I need to be better about that!

As I said before the weekend, my best friend Susan came down to spend the weekend with me! It was so much fun, as always!  We had planned to go see the new Channing Tatum (he is so H-O-T!) movie "Magic Mike" on Friday afternoon, but the showing we planned on was already sold out before Susan even made to my house (yay for being able to check on tix online!). So, when she got here we ordered and printed tickets online for the first showing Saturday morning.  Then we spent the rest of the afternoon just hanging out and chatting and catching up on all our news, girl talk is great!  We got some take-out for dinner with the hubby and then sent him off to work!  We played it really well, got our jammies on before the hubby left, put on a movie and acted like we were settling in for the night.

BUT, we're sneaky girls, and once he texted me that he made it to work and was going to be running a guest shuttle all night instead of the employee shuttle, we quickly changed and headed out to surprise him at work! It ended up being a hilarious night as we went into what we called "stalker-mode" and looked for him at work. There were three shuttles circling parking lots, so it took us awhile to find him. It was pretty funny wandering around the parking lots and trying to follow shuttles on foot :).  We successfully found him, shocked him that we were there and rode his shuttle for a little bit, and I even got to meet one of his supervisors, and she gave me a huge hug :).

Saturday morning we went to the movie, it was really good! I had to call my sis-in-law up by San Fran and tell her that I didn't think it was appropriate for my 15 year old niece to see though. I wouldn't let my teenager see it if I had one.  We did some shopping at Old Navy, where the creepy cashier was hitting on  me and basically asked me out for Saturday night. . . it was odd.  Then we went and visited my parents at the campground they were at for a few hours, it was a nice afternoon!  We came home and bbq'd and watched a couple movies that are faves.  Oh, for dinner, I took chicken breast strips (boneless/skinless) put them in a ziplock with half a bottle of italian dressing and the juice of a lemon, let them marinate all day and then we grilled them, so yummy!!

Today we went to the swapmeet and out to lunch. I found a sand wedge and the guy sold it to me for $5, score! Then came home and relaxed before Susan had to leave to head home :(  I always hate the end of the weekend when she leaves. Her and her husband are good friends with David, so I've only known her for a couple years, but we were instantly friends and talk every day and have quickly become like sisters.  Anyway, I can't wait for her next weekend down here!!

So, that was my busy but fun weekend. Unfortunately I'm sunburned, stupid me  forgot sunscreen, at least I remembered my hat!  So I'm going to go coat my arms in aloe and head off to bed, two late nights in a row and two nights with only 5-6 hours to sleep and I'm wiped out! I must be getting old. . . lol.  Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and has a wonderful week!
