Locks of Love

This morning I went and cut 10 inches off of my hair and donated it to Locks of Love. They make wigs for children suffering from long-term or permanent medical hair loss and rely entirely on donations. I had been planning on cutting off my hair and I made the decision last week to donate it to this wonderful cause. It gives me a wonderful feeling knowing that all of my hair is going to a child who needs it. And it will help a little girl or boy feel pretty or handsome again. A lot of people are saying that I am brave or that they wouldn't be able to do what I did. I just tell them it's for a great cause and my hair will grow back. In fact, I am thinking about growing it out again to donate once more. We'll see how long it takes to grow :)

Anyway, I had the hubby take pictures, so I wanted to share them with all of you.

The before pic, lots of curly hair!

During! It's all gone!

The 10 inch ponytail she cut off!

The back!

And no, I didn't color it, that is my natural hair color, just all of the light part of my hair got cut off! My hair gets really light because I'm out in the sun a lot :)

So, that was my Thursday adventure! Hope everyone has had a good week and that you have a great weekend!

  1. I like it short! I donated my hair to Locks of Love several years ago. I was about 13.. It felt good to do that for cancer victims. :)

    1. Yeah, it's so much easier short too! My best friend in high school passed away from cancer, so I was donating it as a tribute to her.
