Something for those of your that are addicted to your Kindle (like me!). . .

Ever since I got my Kindle, I've been beyond addicted to it! The only thing is that some of the books are still a little pricey. I will pay for some of the bargain books, but I found a way to get **FREE** Kindle books and I wanted to share it with you all!

http://www.pixelofink.com/

I signed up for their email and also liked them on facebook. What they do is post around 4-5 blog posts a day (the email is the best because they are all listed in the one email) and they basically give you links to anywhere from 15-20 titles that are free Kindle books! I was hesitant at first because I wasn't sure if this was really going to be free books. So I tested it with one that sounded interesting to me and the link for each book sends you directly to Amazon's website (just verify that it is free, because some of them are only bargain books).  I have gotten so many books over the last couple of weeks since I signed up! I look forward to their email every day.  I have even gotten several recipe books for free! It's really cool.

So, if you're addicted to your Kindle or even if you just have one of the free Kindle apps (they have them for your computer, ipad, ipod, iphone, android smart phone and I think even blackberry smart phone now) this is definitely a site to check out and sign up for their email list!

I guess that's all for today (I still have to catch up on other things), so I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! And Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful Mother's out there!!

Unexpected Visitors!

I didn't get a chance to catch up today. Last night my 3 year old niece came to spend the night and I was up early getting her fed and ready to leave when my sis-in-law got here.

Then I got two of my nephews dropped off for a few hours, so I was busy with them!

The computer needs to be packed away tomorrow (girls coming to clean) and Thursday is an all day school day, two quizzes, two discussion boards, lots of extra credit papers to finish up and an exam.

So, hopefully Friday will go as planned and be my catch up day! Hope everyone is having a good week!

Oh, and tomorrow night is the last night of bowling league, we're taking the summer off, I also need to remember to take some bowling alley pictures for all you lovely readers!

Sorry for not blogging much. . .

I feel like I have so much to post, but I don't have the time today! Sorry for not being on here much, I have had so much going on.

David's Mom and StepDad will be here next Wednesday and we're having a small memorial for Grandma and then we have to go through the house and label things, what his Mom wants, what we want, and what gets donated. It shouldn't take too long. The long part is going to be getting everything packed up and out of there. Grandma lived there for probably 50+ years, so there is so much stuff in that house! Plus it's going to be very emotional for David.

Anyway, I have a lot of pictures of stuff and a longer blog post, hoping I will have time in the morning. Trying to get everything done for my online class so I don't have to worry about anything next week when David's parents are here and so that I have more time to study for finals!

Hope everyone is well!

Sad Day

It's been a rough day for us. I'm very sad to say that David's Grandma passed away last night.  I had planned on a couple of posts today, but now I'm not sure when I'll be blogging, I may be away for a little while.

I am just glad that his Grandma is no longer suffering from her dementia and is with Grandpa and their son now and at peace.  I'll miss her so much, she welcomed me into their family with open arms and so much love, she was such a wonderful lady.  Having lost all my Grandparents at a young age, she was another Grandma to me and treated me like I was her blood-related Granddaughter. I was so blessed to have known her for the past 2 1/2 years.  We will miss her always.

Us with Grandma at our wedding, she was so happy that day. Love you Grandma.

Hi :)

Okay, so nothing too special today, just a rundown of a quick few things:

*Made my first Etsy purchase today, stationary from LaPapierre as her mailing list special discount ended today.

*Borrowed my brother's golf clubs last night so the hubby can give me a lesson at the driving range tomorrow. . . see if I like it and then we'll go from there.

*My wedding band broke today and my finger feels naked :(  First off, let me explain that the wedding band I have now was originally my sis-in-law's. It's a loaner until I can afford to "upgrade". She used it until she upgraded, the reason I think it broke was because it had been cut off her finger (when she was pregnant), repaired, then pryed off her engagement ring when she got a bigger wedding band, then I got it and had to have it reshaped, the bottom of the band is super thin, so I'm sure it was just really weakened. Until then I have an old diamonique (look on QVC.com to see what that is) ring that belonged to my Grandma as a temporary because I felt too naked just wearing my engagement ring.

*My nephew Joey loved his birthday present we got him (finally got to give it to him last night.

*Went shopping at Ross today and finally got a new glasses case ($4).

*Had an incoming letter from Shannah on Monday :)

*Only about 4 weeks left until final exams and I'm stressed!!

*Tuesday is golf day for the hubby and his brother-in-law's.

*Made my first handmade envies.

Okay, I think that's all, look for random pictures possibly tomorrow. And also a movie review, rented two movies from Red Box today (parents are camping and hubby is sleeping all day). So since I only have 2 penpals at the moment, I guess I should fill in my blog with other things!

Happy Friday everyone!!

Sunday Shopping Trip (On the Computer)!

So, my penpalling supplies are in sad need of restocking, most of what I have is packed away in a huge box in our storage unit, and of course, it's the box at the very bottom. . . not easy access!

So, I was looking around online, because I'm already bored with some notepads that I bought. I got the bright idea to check out http://www.currentcatalog.com/.  While they aren't the best place for letter sets, they do have a ton of stickers and notecards and some different notepads. So I started adding things to my "shopping cart" because they are also having a big sale right now. Boxes of notecards, stickers, notepads, and all kinds of other stuff buy one, get one free. They also have a huge sale section, but it was mostly greeting cards (birthday, sympathy, congrats, etc) and I prefer blank ones.

So, I ended up with 4 boxes of 10 notecards (2 boxes were free), 2 sheets of flip-flop envelope seals (I wear flip-flops year-round, sometimes even in the rain) one sheet free, and a $0.99 notepad, my total with shipping was $14. Not too bad! I also found out that if you sign up for their email list (which I did as soon as I went to their site) they almost instantly send you a "Welcome" email with a promo code for 15% off, so on top of the great deals I found, I saved an extra 15%. Not too shabby! I will post pics of my goodies once they arrive (in 10-14 days).

Hope everyone is having a happy Sunday. The sun finally came out here today so I think I'm going to head outside and enjoy it!

Moleskine Postal Notebook!

Saw this on another blog and thought it was the coolest thing for penpalling! What a great way to do a journal swap, or be more creative in your letter writing! I already have so many ideas of what I could do with this!  Now just have to find a place around here where I could go check them out in person and see how much they cost! And what a clever video they put together to introduce this new product!
