A Walk in the Park

My parents' dog Rusty looks forward to his morning walks at a local park. With Dad gone on vacation he hasn't been able to go, so this past Wednesday morning, my husband and I decided to take him to help cheer him up a little bit. I took some pictures of our adventure!

Lots of trees at this park with no leaves, surprising since we've had a pretty warm winter this year!

I thought this was kinda cool, our three shadows.

Need to play catch up!

Sorry I've been neglecting my blog this week! It's been a little hectic and busy, trying to get into a routine and it hasn't worked out quite yet!


Tomorrow I have some assignments due for my class and after I get those taken care of I will catch up on blog posts!  I have a few entries already in mind!


But first, I gotta go bowl tonight. . . a little worried since we decided to take last week off, partly because I had no energy, mainly because we had a pretty nasty quick rain storm pass through and didn't want to drive that far in the weather.

Still Behind. . .

On just about everything! I didn't get anything done this weekend that I had planned on! 


Tomorrow is a holiday and I have a lot to do because Tuesday I'm going with David and his brother-in-laws while they golf! I think I may end up taking something with me to do in between driving around the course hunting for golf balls! It's a lot of sitting and waiting while they play, but I enjoy it for some reason. It's nice to be outside on the golf course, it's quiet and peaceful and you get to see so much scenery, so yes, I will probably take some pictures!


Tomorrow I need to finish letters. I'm about half way done with one and then two more to write and then I'll be studying the rest of the day! 


Also want to say Happy 60th Birthday to my wonderful Mother-in-Law that lives in Las Vegas!! We're bummed we couldn't be with her today to celebrate, but we're putting together a small package to send this week (had to wait for payday). And I hope that she had a wonderful day!


Holiday tomorrow in the US, so no mail, I'll have stuff ready to mail out on Tuesday if tomorrow goes as planned! Two of my nephews are spending the night tonight, so hopefully tomorrow isn't too crazy with them here!

Long Week

Sorry I haven't posted all week. . . it's been a long and hectic week with school, I've been exhausted today! I took today off just to do some things that weren't school related.


Made my first homemade envelopes, I'll posted about them tomorrow with pictures. Got the idea from another blog to use old scrapbook paper, so I did that and they turned out pretty good for my first ones! 


Tomorrow I might be going over to my inlaw's, haven't heard from my sister-in-law yet as she just got back tonight from training for a week for work in Dallas. 


For now I'm off to bed, tomorrow I need to write letters as well. . . goodnight!

A Weekend of Birthdays!

On Friday I turned 30. I'm not ready to be 30, but oh well, I guess I need to learn to live with it! lol. 


It was a good day! My husband took me to a wonderful lunch at an old fashioned Malt Shop that he used to frequent back in the day! The guys still recognized him (which isn't hard to do!), but I felt like they were old friends after spending a couple hours enjoying lunch! It's a family owned place and they have amazing food! Wonderful hamburgers and onion rings. . . no ice cream for me, I'm dairy challenged, but their shakes, sundaes and malts looked amazing! And I just now realized that I forgot to take some pictures of the place, I will have to do that next time we go!


After lunch we went up to one of our local casinos for the evening session of Bingo! Unfortunately none of us won, but it was still a fun night out!

I took a picture of the section we parked in since we always seem to forget where we park in parking garages, and then I have flashbacks of that Seinfeld episode where they lose their car and they are wandering the parking garage all day! That could be me! LOL.

 One of my non-winning bingo cards, had one where I only needed two numbers, but no luck for the birthday girl! Maybe next time!

 My husband had to wait until Saturday morning to get my present (and trust me, I didn't mind at all!) He surprised me big time with these movies! Twilight and New Moon are special 3 disc editions, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn: Part 1 are collectible gift set editions! He had to wait because Breaking Dawn didn't come out until midnight and we didn't get home until 1am, so I would've thought it a little weird if he went out in the middle of the night, lol.

And then my Mom got me this adorable weekender luggage set! I absolutely love the blue plaid. And hard to see, but it even came with a little travel manicure set! She also got me an outfit, but it's in the wash, so I couldn't post a pic. This luggage is perfect for me! My husband and I go to Vegas once a year to visit his Mom and Step-dad, so it will get used a lot!




Unfortunately I don't have pictures to post, but Saturday was my niece's 3rd birthday party! It was a princess party, because she's the little princess with having 3 older brothers! It was such a cute party at a little shop in the mall, they dressed all the girls up as princesses and the little boys up like princes! It was a fun morning!


Okay, enough blogging for me today! I need to hit the books and study, study, study or I'll never pass these quizzes or the exam! I'll be a little scarce this week, so I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Past my bedtime!

I kept meaning to update from the last few days at some point today, but this gloomy and rainy weather had me lacking motivation. I didn't even get as far with my studying today as I would've liked to.


So, as it is getting late, I will leave the long post (with a couple of pictures) until tomorrow and go curl up in my warm bed!

Bowling Night!

I had a rough night bowling. The lanes were so screwy! The first game I had 4 splits in a row! I was in splitsville all night, and I don't get why because my ball was going right into the pocket on most of them! I was robbed!! LOL.


In other news, another guy in our league bowled a 300 tonight! I think it's something crazy like his 5th 300 or something. . . the guy should go pro, he's an awesome bowler!


I think that's all for now, I have a lot of studying to do tomorrow and I promised our friend Kevin I would look for some basketball tix for him for the college game in Vegas this weekend. . .

Changed Layout

I'm weird, but I got bored with my layout after just over a week, so I decided to change it again, I think I like this one a little better. I felt like the other made my blog hard to read. . . I don't know, maybe it's just me. I like to change things around a lot, lol.


Well, that's about all from me tonight, sorry to be boring. Nothing new to really post other than ran some errands today. Of course by the time my hubby woke up and we got ready to leave the rain had arrived. People here don't know how to drive when it rains. . . made for an interesting outing and almost got into one accident because some jerk was in a big hurry!


Nothing in my mailbox lately except for bills. . . how boring. . . but I guess that happens when you only have 2 penpals, LOL. I didn't think it would be this hard to get back into penpalling again. . . oh well, any suggestions on sites to try? I used 'Pen Pal World' but never got any replies from anyone. Maybe the world is trying to tell me something? LOL.

Weekend. . .

So, a pretty good weekend, other than the hubby having to work all weekend, but that's the usual. I thought it would be nice with him working graveyard shift and having to work weekends, but it's backfired because he sleeps all day, so we still don't get to do much.


Last night we had a great dinner with the family celebrating Mom's birthday. And after dinner my two oldest nephews came over and spent the night! So first thing this morning both of them were in my bed snuggling with me waiting for Uncle to get home from work. I love that even though they are 10 and 7 they still enjoy cuddling with their Auntie! It's my favorite part of having them spend the night <3


Today was the Super Bowl, I turned it on for commercials, didn't really pay attention to the game as I hate the New England Patriots and despise Eli Manning and the Giants. Unfortunately the Giants won. . . honestly, if Eli Manning wasn't their Quarterback, I would have been hoping they would win, but as long as he is, I will despise them because I can't stand him! The highlights were of course commercials, and then the half time show! Madonna was awesome!!! I loved that she sang a mix of old and new songs! Her outfit was a little weird when she first came out on stage. . . but all in all it was one of the best half time shows I have ever seen!


Well, my weekend off is at an end, time for bed and back to the books tomorrow! Lots of studying and work to get done for class! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Today is my mom's birthday! We'll be going out for an early family dinner in a little while, but I wanted to send a shout out to my wonderful mother on her special day!

Incoming Mail!

Seeing as I just started penpalling again, I don't get much mail except for bills during the week. But I got my first letter from my new pal Jennifer on Wednesday! 

It was a great letter! I love her handmade envelope made from a map! So clever, I wish I could do stuff like that, I'm not always very crafty, lol.  It was great to hear back from her, seems like we have a lot in common and will be good pals :)

Bowling!!!

Every Wednesday night my husband and I bowl in league. I'm not very good yet, but I'm getting there. He has been bowling for years! Well, last night was a really exciting night!! I am so proud to say that my husband bowled his third 300 game!! It's a huge accomplishment to get one 300 game, a perfect game! But to have 3?? I am beyond proud! We hadn't met when he got his first, but I was happy that I was there for the one last night and the second one 18 months ago.


Every time you bowl a 300, you get to choose between a ring or a plaque. The first ring went to his Mom after he bowled his second 300, the second ring he wears as it is the most important 300 game to him. I should mention that the second 300 game was bowled on the one year anniversary of his Dad passing away, it still gives me chills to think about it, and it is by far the most important. Before his Dad got sick with cancer they would bowl on leagues together and to bowl a perfect game on that day was surreal for both of us. We know his Dad was with us that night and helping his son out :)


So, this third ring he is giving to me! It's his first 300 being married. But he had already said his next ring would be mine :)  So anyway, I just wanted to have a proud wife moment, because I am thrilled for my wonderful hubby!!
